Best Pizzas in Downtown Tampa

Best Pizzas in Downtown Tampa - Featured Image

Tampa has some great pizzas. So many in fact that it can be hard to find the best one. We have ordered and tried all of the pizzas local to Marketing in Color, and decided to compile a list of our favorites in and around the Downtown Tampa area.

Eddie & Sam’s Pizza

When you think of pizza in Downtown Tampa, you think of Eddie & Sam’s. The shop looks like it was picked up right off the streets of Manhattan and placed right in the heart of Tampa. They have giant slices of New York-style pizza in every flavor from Lasagna to Eggplant Parmigiana, and the gelato there is a perfect treat on a hot day. The secret to their pizza’s authenticity is the water they make their dough with, which is imported directly from New York.
Pizza by the Slice – Yes, and it’s a great way to sample all of their flavors!
Delivery – Yes, but they walk it to you so you have to be within five blocks of them.

Tampiz

Tampiz is what happens when two French brothers come to America and decide to open a pizzeria. While technically not in Downtown Tampa (they are located across the street from University of Tampa), they are close enough to grab a bite during your lunch break. They are always experimenting with different types of pizzas, which combined with the fact that they make almost everything from scratch in house means that their pizzas are phenomenal!
Pizza by the Slice – Only on occasion
Delivery – Yes, via Grub Hub

Tampa Pizza Company

Tampa Pizza Company has some of the most inventive and healthy pizzas on this list. From Pear and Gorgonzola to Sriracha Meatball, there is no lack of unique flavors to try, and they even have options for vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy-free, and even soy-free. Their appetizers are also some of my favorite – make sure you try their Cheesy Garlic Bread.

Bavaro’s

The Bavaro family moved to Tampa from New Jersey, and brought with them their delicious homemade recipes, and their mastery of the wood-fired pizza. The moment you enter the restaurant, you see their wood-fired oven, which they use to quickly cook your thin crust pizza. And when I say quick, I mean quick. The pizza is in the oven for about 90 seconds, which is more than enough to cook it and infuse that amazing wood-fired taste.

Dominos Pizza

Dominos has REALLY stepped up their pizza game. They revamped their crust, sauce, and cheese to create a completely different pizza than you’ve ever had from Dominos. I ordered pizza for the office and received a few complaints that it was from Dominos until everyone tried their newly designed pizza and universally agreed that it was delicious. Seriously, try it.
