Batten down the hatches for another fun-filled Gasparilla! If you’re a Tampa Bay native, you’ve most likely heard of this big pirate fest that brings in thousands of spectators nationwide. And if you’ve never heard of Gasparilla, just picture a smaller, more PG version of Mardi Gras. For some, the anticipation of the pirate ships parading down Bayshore Boulevard and tossing out beads is comparable to Christmas. And the countdown for the next Gasparilla begins almost immediately after the parade has concluded. Some cannot contain their excitement at all and let everyone know the countdown daily. Have we gotten you excited yet?

The community residents, businesses, and organizations all get in on the fun – we even have a pirate flag hanging in our office. Some organizations are joining in on the pirate fun by incorporating the pirate theme into their logos.

If you’re planning on attending the parade, here is more information on Gasparilla 2016! Gasparilla activities will continue after the main parade on January 30, 2016, so be on the lookout for more pirate fun events in the future!
